According to the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India, Uninor (mobile telephony and network provider) have crossed the base of 25 million subscribers in India. In April, Uninor became the eight largest telecom operators in the country.
Uninor currently have 4 million mobile phone subscribers base in Uttar Pradesh (east), close to 3 million in Uttar Pradesh (west), whereas, 2.8 million in Bihar and 2.4 million in West Benga, 2.3 million subscribers in Andhra Pradesh, 2.19 million subscribers in Maharashtra, 1.96 million subscribers in Gujarat. According to the report, CDMA player MTS, GSM operators Videcon, Loop, S Tel and Etisalat DB are names of some competitors who fell behind Uninor in the month of April.
According to one of the statement released in the report, “The total subscription of the base is now bigger than at least one incumbent in 8 of its 13 commercially operational cycle“.
Uninor have also introduced an interesting health tool called ‘Wellness World‘ which offers health related information to all it’s subscribers. In the past, Uninor introduced feature called “Talk Time Transfer“. This feature turn out to be interesting when it was known that the talk-time can also work on zero balance. “Talk Time Transfer” feature was first introduced in Bihar and Jharkand.
