What Is Unrequited Love?

Unrequited love is a term that is used when one person has strong feelings towards another that are not reciprocated. This type of love has been the subject
of many books, films, and television programs. The person to whom these feelings are directed at may not even be aware that he or she is the object of someone's affection. Most people become aware of mismatched affections, however. Unrequited love can be awkward no matter what the situation. In fact, it has ended many friendships because problems develop when one person wants to keep the relationship strictly platonic, and the other person wants to act on feelings that cross the boundaries of friendship. It can be very difficult to maintain a friendship under such circumstances. When unrequited love develops in the workplace, it can be especially tricky. People have been known to change jobs in order to avoid this type of situation. It can often be more awkward for the person who is the subject of the affections. Although it may be nice to receive the attention at first, it can become difficult to handle and may spiral out of control. Celebrities are often the focus of unrequited love. Some people develop serious feelings for others who they have never met. This happens more commonly with celebrities, as their lives are played out in the media. A misguided person may actually feel as if they know a celebrity even though they have never met.

Biography of Barack Obama

Birth Name Barack Hussein Obama II
Nickname Barry Bama Rock The One No Drama Obama Height 6' 1" (1.85 m) Mini Biography Barack Obama was born to a white American mother, Ann Dunham, and a black Kenyan father, Barack Obama Sr., who were both young college students at the University of Hawaii. When his father left for Harvard, she and Barack stayed behind, and his father ultimately returned alone to Kenya, where he worked as a government economist. Barack's mother remarried an Indonesian oil manager and moved to Jakarta when Barack was six. He later recounted Indonesia as simultaneously lush and a harrowing exposure to tropical poverty. He returned to Hawaii, where he was brought up largely by his grandparents. The family lived in a small apartment - his grandfather was a furniture salesman and an unsuccessful insurance agent and his grandmother worked in a bank - but Barack managed to get into Punahou School, Hawaii's top prep academy. His father wrote to him regularly but, though he traveled around the world on official business for Kenya, he visited only once, when Barack was ten. Obama attended Columbia University, but found New York's racial tension inescapable. He became a community organizer for a small Chicago church-based group for three years, helping poor South Side residents cope with a wave of plant closings. He then attended Harvard Law School, and in 1990 became the first African-American editor of the Harvard Law Review. He turned down a prestigious judicial clerkship, choosing instead to practice civil-rights law back in Chicago, representing victims of housing and employment discrimination and working on voting-rights legislation. He also began teaching at the University of Chicago Law School, and married Michelle Robinson, a fellow attorney. Eventually he was elected to the Illinois state senate, where his district included both Hyde Park and some of the poorest ghettos on the South Side. In 2004 Obama was elected to the U.S. Senate as a Democrat, representing Illinois, and he gained national attention by giving a rousing and well-received keynote speech at the Democratic National Convention in Boston. In 2008 he ran for President, and despite having only four years of national political experience, he won. Personal Quotes [from keynote speech given at the 2000 Democratic party national convention] There's not a liberal America and a conservative America. There's the United States of America. We worship an awesome God in the blue states, and we don't like federal agents poking around our libraries in the red states. We coach Little League in the blue states, and have gay friends in the red states. There are patriots who opposed the war, and patriots who supported it. We are one people, all of us pledging allegiance to the Stars and Stripes, all of us defending the United States of America. And it lives on in those Americans -- young and old, rich and poor, black and white, Latino and Asian and Native American, gay and straight -- who are tired of a politics that divides us and want to recapture the sense of common purpose that we had when John Kennedy was President of the United States of America. [regarding former President Bill Clinton's support for his wife--and Obama's opponent for the 2008 Democratic presidential nomination--Hillary Rodham Clinton] Sometimes I don't know who I'm running against. [when asked whether he would call on Bill Clinton and Hillary Rodham Clinton to release their tax returns, after Hilary loaned $5 million of her own money to her campaign] I'll just say that I've released my tax returns. That's been a policy I've maintained consistently. I think the American people deserve to know where you get your income from. But I'll leave it up to you guys to chase it down . . . I think we set the bar in terms of transparency and disclosure that has been a consistent theme of my campaign and my career in politics. In the unlikely story that is America, there has never been anything false about hope. When I am this party's [Democratic party] nominee, my opponent will not be able to say that I voted for the war in Iraq; or that I gave [George W. Bush] the benefit of the doubt on Iran; or that I supported Bush-Cheney [former VP Dick Cheney] policies of not talking to leaders that we don't like. And he will not be able to say that I wavered on something as fundamental as whether or not it is okay for America to torture - because it is NEVER okay. That's why I am in it. As President, I will end the war in Iraq. We will have our troops home in sixteen months. I will close Guantanamo. I will restore habeas corpus. I will finish the fight against Al Qaeda. And I will lead the world to combat the common threats of the 21st century - nuclear weapons and terrorism; climate change and poverty; genocide and disease. And I will send once more a message to those yearning faces beyond our shores that says, "You matter to us. Your future is our future. And our moment is now." This time we want to talk about the crumbling schools that are stealing the future of black children and white children and Asian children and Hispanic children and Native American children. This time we want to reject the cynicism that tells us that these kids can't learn; that those kids who don't look like us are somebody else's problem. The children of America are not those kids, they are our kids, and we will not let them fall behind in a 21st century economy. Not this time. Change is coming to America. In America, we have this strong bias toward individual action. You know, we idolize the John Wayne hero who comes in to correct things with both guns blazing. But individual actions, individual dreams, are not sufficient. We must unite in collective action, build collective institutions and organizations. In Washington, the call this the Ownership Society, and it is especially tempting because each of us believes we will always be the winner in life's lottery, that we're the one who will be the next Donald Trump, or at least we won't be the chump who Donald Trump says: "You're fired!" When we ground our cigarettes in the hallway carpet or set our stereos so loud that the walls began to shake, we were resisting bourgeois society's stifling constraints. We weren't indifferent or careless or insecure. We were alienated. Where Are They Now (November 2008) Elected the 44th President of the United States of America

Negative Effects of Facebook Addiction

Social networking website, Facebook is very popular at present and human being becomes habitual of it. The number of Facebook users boosts up day by day. Apart from the positive sides of Facebook, it also has some negative effects also. People, especially teenagers make their habit to Facebook without
realizing the negative effects of Facebook. Some studies have suggested that Facebook can cause many negative things. Nowadays everyone has a Facebook account but it is used for personal use by some people and other uses it for advertise, or to keep people up to date on events, etc. The users’ decision causes either positive or negative aspect so they need to know how to manage, maintain, and use their own account. If people can not keep control over this addiction, then it may turn into the negative things. Sophomore Mark Zuckerberg of Harvard University and two other colleagues developed a free-access social networking website, Facebook in 2004. Users are allowed to connect with family, friends and relatives all over the world by Facebook. Users can share their feelings, find their old friends, add friends and send messages, play games such as Poker and Bejewelled, be a part of many applications ETC, write on their walls, upload pictures and comment on their friends pictures, update their personal user profile to notify friends about them, and make new friends at Facebook. According to a survey everyday, an average user spends approximately one hour on Facebook. A large mass of Facebook users belong to the 35+ age groups. People favor instant messaging over face-to-face conversation these days. Oxygen Media and Lightspeed Research conducted a study that shows Facebook is checked in the morning by one-third of women in the age group of 18-34. They wake up in the middle of the night to check Facebook, admitted by around 21 percent of the 1,605 surveys. Source: futurelab.net Facebook is accessed by over 100 million users through their cell phones. People, who use personal computers to access Facebook are less active in comparison to those, who use their cell phones for the same. The entire world spent up to a whopping 6 billion minutes a day on Facebook. The requirement is to give a serious thought to this question whether time is spent or wasted on Facebook. Some symptoms of Facebook addiction are given below to help users in realizing whether they are really addicted to Facebook. Users and their siblings communicate through Facebook wall and messages, even if they stay in same house. Users check Facebook for updates and comments after every hour at their workstation or on their cell phone. Users wake up in the morning, and log onto their Facebook account first. Users’ Facebook wall is full of status updates, comments, and applications that they just used. Users give priority to Facebook over their commitments in professional and personal life. Users spend over an hour on Facebook at a stretch or in short episodes over regular intervals. Users can not stop thinking about Facebook updates and comments when they are offline. Users look forward to get home in the evening so that they can see what is happening in cyberspace. (on Facebook to be precise) Users can not go for a day without using Facebook, and even this thought makes them go into sort of depression. Users’ day ends with checking Facebook for that one last time bidding people 'good night' through their Facebook status update. If users are facing any of these activities, then they are suffering from Facebook addiction disorder. Facebook addiction disorder contains the tendency to affect some serious problem of their mental health and social life. Therefore they need to throw away this habit as soon as possible. Negative Effects of Facebook Facebook is used by the hundreds of millions of people as a part time activity. The round-the-clock connectivity has enticed other people. Thoughts, ideas, and pictures are shared by people with their friends and family members at Facebook to be re-connected with their former high school classmates, former work mates with whom they have lost contact or as only a way to relax with one of the many Facebook applications that comprise games, puzzles, and quizzes. This type of using Facebook is generally harmless and fun. However, Facebook is allowed to replace the parts of users’ real lives. In some cases, users will be connected with strangers and users’ real friendships and healthy interactions with others will be replaced. Sometimes Facebook users are unaware of the dangers of the internet issues like hacking. A third party generally writes Facebook applications and that party is capable to allow Trojan horses, viruses, and worms into users’ computer. The third party can let tracking cookies so companies can learn more about users’ internet habits. Users thought that they are downloading a game, but actually they could be opening up their computer to someone, who can observe their bank statements, passwords, or any other sensitive information on their home computer. Facebook addiction disorder is a modern addition that can affect the young and old alike all over the world. Facebook addiction disorder contains many negative effects given below. Privacy Blow Up: Facebook is a social networking website so many people use it to connect with lots of people. In those people, many people can be their identified people but surely some people may be totally new for them. Users can not keep any information private due to any of the people can get their personal information. So, users must not place their detailed personal data on Facebook. Does not Care about His/Her Surroundings: If someone is previously addicted to Facebook, then the possibility is that he/she would not care about his/her surroundings. This person only care about his/her world. Facebook users check their Facebook profile to see who has written on their wall, commented on their photos or commented on their status, etc; this activity takes them away from spending time with friends and family. Less Social Interaction: People make a lot of friends in Facebook and interact with them at internet. But in the real world, they have no time to interact with others. Actually, people spend most of their time with the internet and the result is they are reducing their social skills, communication skills as well as verbal skills. Bad for Health: Obesity is among the negative effects of Facebook. If people will sit in front of the monitor all the time and will eat snacks then their physical activities will reduce and certainly they will be fatter. If this process will take place the whole month then they will become less attractive in front of their opposite sex. Reduce the Time for Study: Facebook attract people by allowing them to do time pass with their family, friends, and relatives, whole time. Students also browse Facebook after coming from school and this way, they reduce the time for their study. Possibility of Conflict: Many immature people create stupid status, upload embarrassing picture and many other ridiculous actions. By these actions, definitely conflicts can be set up with others. So users need to be aware from these kinds of problems. Less Family Concern: Facebook becomes a trend so people are interested to be Facebook users. Users give importance to their Facebook friends and community in comparison to their family members. Actually the words, “Family comes first” are losing their meaning for Facebook users. Many websites provide information about Facebook Addiction Disorder, with the aim to help users if either they are suffering from Facebook Addiction Disorder (FAD), or they are moving to reach that disease. The best treatment for Facebook Addiction Disorder is to find an activity to replace it. Use of Facebook is an enjoyable activity but users need to protect themselves for staying safe. Users need to allow only recognized people to interact with them by using privacy settings. Ensure the computer is sufficiently up-to-date with its virus defense. How to handle Facebook addiction? To handle Facebook addiction, people need to recognize and admit that they have an addiction to Facebook. Then they need to take some time to think and list down other things in which they spend time besides browsing on Facebook. They need to make a schedule that they can spend 20 or 30 minutes a day for Facebook and use their other time for some another activities. Also carefully follow the schedule. Users need to delete their Facebook account in the case, worse comes to worst. Reduce Facebook tracking: Users can slowly decrease the time of spending on their Facebook account. For instance, if they open a Facebook account in every 10 minutes, then they can do so every 30, then every hour, then every other day, until they can exist not opening Facebook at all. Consider other alternatives: Users need to spend their time in something else besides Facebook like go to the gym or take a stroll around the neighborhood. You can also visit the spa or the salon. Meet up with your friends: Users can use Facebook to be connected with their friends and schedule meet-ups. The main reason of using Facebook is to reach out to people; especially those users who have not meet for a very long time. Activate Facebook blocking applications: Applications that can block the social networking website can be downloaded to help in stopping Facebook addiction. When users have to attend very important task, they can activate these applications. Use self help CDs: For stopping Facebook addiction, many self help CDs and self help tapes are available in the market. The inspiration and motivation to stop Facebook addiction is provided by subliminal messages or affirmations that are included in majority of self help CDs and self help tapes. Share your thoughts: If users share their feelings with their friends and family members then they can help users in eliminating their addiction by providing moral support. Buy a mobile phone with no Internet capabilities: If users purchase a mobile phone without Internet capabilities, then they can stay protected from internet addiction. A mobile phone without Internet capabilities is cheaper and helpful for user to stay connected with their friends and relatives.

Can Google+ Compete with Facebook?

I have invested a lot of time diving into the Google+ social network and exploring what it has to offer. Now, Google has cut the ribbon and opened the door to the general public, so Google+ is an official social network ready to go head to head with Facebook.
The question, though, is can it compete with Facebook?
I have found Google+ to be a very capable social network, and a pleasant experience. When posting the same links and status updates on both Google+ and Facebook, I have found it easier to choose which audience to share with on Google+, simpler to post the status update itself (without regard to maximum character limits on my text, and frequently the Google+ audience has been more involved and engaged) and simpler to comment and share the posts with others.
But, at the same time I have always known that most of the things that appeared to set Google+ apart are actually possible on Facebook as well. Google just did a better job of making the tools more intuitive and available where people can find and use them.
By running Google+ as a limited Field Trial, though, Google tipped its hand and gave Facebook an opportunity to watch and learn. Facebook sat on the sidelines, monitored the features and capabilities that users seem to appreciate, and rolled many of those features into Facebook. Whatever divide may once have separated them is all but gone at this point.
But, it is hard to ignore the fact that Google+ is the exciting new kid on the block. Out of 750 million Facebook members, I have just over 2,000 followers of my Facebook Page. Not only is 2,000 a paltry sum when you consider that there are three quarters of a billion people on Facebook, but it took a long, long time to get there. I only recently crossed the 2,000 follower threshold after more than a year.

1,300 followers in a month

Juxtapose that with Google+. In just over a month I have nearly 1,300 people who have me in their Circles. That's with an audience of only about 25 million Google+ users on an invitation-only limited Field Trial.
Now that Google+ is open to the general public, it will be interesting to see how - or if - the membership explodes. Perhaps the amount of overlap between my Google+ and Facebook networks will increase substantially. Or, maybe they will remain distinct and separate and I will have to maintain a presence on both and tailor my messages and updates accordingly.
So, what is my verdict on Google+? I like it. I like it more than I did when I embarked on the 30 Days With Google+ journey, and more than I thought I would. There are still some things I don't care for, and features I would like to see added or changed, but overall I am impressed with what Google has put together.
The challenge for Google+ is one of defining its value proposition. It is a great social network, and it has a lot to offer - but what it has to offer is already available for the most part from Facebook. Three quarters of a billion people have already set up camp on Facebook. They have invested time and effort in establishing connections and building their social networks. Google+ has to give a more compelling reason for 750 million people to switch than "come use our same tools and services because we're not Facebook".
There are some unique aspects to Google that Facebook really can't compete with. Google has the benefit of the rest of the Googleverse and the ability to seamlessly integrate the Google+ social network into the Android mobile ecosystem, Gmail, Google Docs, Picasa, YouTube, and more. For some, that alone will be compelling enough. For others, that may be reason to run in the other direction.
Personally, I don't see the value right now. I like Google+, but the vast majority of what it offers are just variations of what Facebook has already offered for years. Without some compelling reason that sets Google+ uniquely apart from Facebook, I would tell anyone who asks to stick with the established entity that has 750 million members and is synonymous with social networking.

Easy ways to have a twins baby

1. Have a History

Do twins run in your family? If you have a mother, brother, sister, uncle or long lost cousin with multiples, you may wonder if you'll have them too. Sometimes twinning is hereditary, it's true. However, only fraternal (dizygotic twins are influenced by heredity, and then only in some cases. If your mother or maternal grandmother was or had fraternal twins, you might have inherited a gene for hyperovulation, increasing your chances of conceiving twins also.

2. Grow or Gain Weight

study published by the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology correlates the rise in multiple birth rates with rising rates of obesity. Research found that mothers with a BMI (Body Mass Index) of 30 or higer were significantly more likely to have twins. Again, this statistic only holds true for fraternal (dizygotic) twins. The research also showed that women of above-average height were also more likely to have multiples.

3. Grow Up: Wait Until You're Older

Older mothers are more likely to conceive twins than their younger counterparts. It's thought that the body accelerates ovulation as the biological clock starts ticking faster. Almost twenty percent of mothers who give birth over the age of 45 have multiples. However, the risks also increase; older mothers have a higher rate of miscarriage and are more likely to experience problems such as gestational diabetes during their pregnancy; in addition, their babies are at higher risk for chromosomal abnormalities.

4. Have More Twins

Once you have had a multiple pregnancy, you are significantly more likely to conceive -- and deliver -- twins again! Some estimates suggest that mothers of twins are four times more likely to have twins again than a woman who has never been pregnant, or who only had a singleton.

5. Diet: Yams & Dairy

No one is quite sure why, but the Yoruba tribe in West Africa has the highest rate of twinning in the world. A study concluded that the mother's diet was the cause, being high in cassava, a type of yam or sweet potato. The peelings of this vegetable are thought to contain a chemical that causes hyperovulation. In addition, a 2006 study found that women who consume dairy are five times as likely to have twins.

6. Seek Fertility Assistance

Reproductive technology has dramatically increased the multiple birth rate. Drugs that stimualate ovulation can lead to a multiple pregnancy, but multiples can also result from invitro fertilization. It's not just that multiple embryos are implanted in the mother, but there is also an unexplained increase in the number of monozygotic twins among IVF patients. No ethical doctor would provide treatment if it wasn't warranted, so fertility assistance should only be sought out when necessary.

7. Have A Big Family

The more kids you have, the more likely you are to conceive twins in a subsequent pregnancy. No one knows the magic limit that triggers a multiple pregnancy, so you'll just have to keep trying until it happens.

8. Conceive While Breastfeeding

Most people think that you can't get pregnant while breastfeeding, that the process of lactating keeps a woman from ovulating. However, plenty of mothers of twins disagree with that idea. Some research has supported the theory that the chance of twins or multiples is increased if a woman conceives while breastfeeding. For example, Dr. Gary Steinman claims that women who become pregnant while breastfeeding are nine times more likely to conceive twins than women who are not breastfeeding at the time of conception.

9. Get Pregnant On the Pill

Birth control pills are usually thought to be 99.9 percent effective at preventing pregnancy. However, that .01 percent might results in a double whammy -- multiples. Sometimes pregnancy occurs when the pill isn't taken consistently; in other cases, the hormonal mix of a particular drug type simply doesn't provide enough coverage to completely prevent ovulation. In either case, playing around with hormones can lead to hyperovulation, increasing the chances of multiples.

10. Just Get Lucky!

Many parents of multiples don't meet any of the classic criteria, yet find themselves doubly blessed. Monozygotic twins are particularly mysterious; no one is exactly certain what causes an egg to split after conception, producing identical twins. The bottom line is that there truly isn't a whole lot an individual can do to influence their chances of having twins; sometimes you just get lucky!

what is smoking hot?

f there is one item of clothing guaranteed to make a woman feel ladylike this season, it is the pencil skirt. Sleek, slimline, and a shortcut to the sexiest of sashays, it is the linchpin of a Forties fashion resurgence set to put the genteel back on the fashion map.
Much of the credit for its return must go to the woman for whom God created hip-hugging skirts. Joan Holloway, the feisty flame-haired secretary played by Christina Hendricks in the hit series, Mad Men , has inspired designers and female shoppers alike to embrace a quintessentially refined working wardrobe, paired with, where possible, a smoking-hot set of curves.
The fashion world has long found this ladylike look impossible to resist, from Marc Jacobs at Louis Vuitton, who squeezed supermodels into teeny corsets and big skirts last autumn, to Donna Karan, Frida Giannini at Gucci and Jean Paul Gaultier, who have played out their love of the hourglass this season to produce simultaneously strong and feminine silhouettes that hark back to the curves of such Hollywood greats as Marilyn Monroe, Ava Gardner and Rita Hayworth.
As Sarah Shotton, creative director at Agent Provocateur, the most decadent of lingerie labels, says: "The global success of Mad Men promoted this look within the media, but, really, the hourglass silhouette has always been - and always will be - attractive to both men and women because it is healthy, sexy and alluring."
Key pieces for this season's take on the ladylike include neatly tailored jackets nipped in at the waist and delicate tea dresses peppered with spriggy prints. Then there are the all-important glamorous accoutrements: the silver-screen fur tippets laced around lapels; the silky pussybow blouses against alabaster skin; and the louche leather gloves masking a pair of delicate wrists.
The high street has also followed the designer lead: Banana Republic has created a limited-edition collection in honour of Mad Men , which arrives in store this month, while Topshop has injected Hollywood glamour into the ladylike proceedings, courtesy of midi-length little black dresses lined with faux chinchilla cuffs and wraps - oh so Ginger Rogers.
But what exactly is it that makes this look the one reliable - and repeated - refrain in fashion's complex musical score? According to the British menswear designer Patrick Grant, tailoring is a powerful weapon in a woman's arsenal. "It has transformational power over the wearer, and equal, if not greater, power over the beholder."
He adds: "Maybe it's a throwback to the domineering school ma'am, maybe it's the lingering legacy of the Iron Lady, but men find themselves weakened by a woman in tailored clothes." Although Margaret Thatcher may be an uneasy style icon for many to reconcile, a look to make men wither is rather difficult to resist.
"Suave sophistication has never seemed more appropriate, and is a good reflection of the times," agrees designer Antonio Berardi, whose autumn/winter 2011 show was replete with femme fatales decked in sensual and close-fitting cocktail dresses. "Perhaps women have been a little lax of late with the etiquette of dressing, never considering the right underpinnings, the perfect stocking, shoe or the contents of their handbags. This was a prerequisite for my parents' generation; I remember fondly both of them hankering over the correct hankie."
As fashion pulls up its proverbial stockings this season, it has reassessed the values of strong and considered femininity. "The Forties silhouette is a more concealed and demure look for the woman," says designer Jonathan Saunders, who drew inspiration from the Forties American photographer, Paul Outerbridge, to produce neat belted waists and sleek midi-skirts in a palette of rich colour for autumn.
"After summer's colourful and playful direction, a more strict, sexy silhouette feels new. I think the customer is looking to find value in what she buys and is happy to invest in special pieces when they make her feel sophisticated."
Fortunately, such ladylike sophistication can be conjured up with relative ease and is flattering to almost all - another reason for its unswerving popularity.
Most dresses can transform into an hourglass simply with the addition of a high-waisted belt. Hemlines are falling further below the knee with each new season, which encourages the wearing of heels to elongate the leg. A fur shrug, be it real or faux, slung across the shoulders of a jacket can instantly inject a bit of Forties Dietrich finesse. And the resilience of the trend for bright red lipstick takes this whole look from the dowdy to the downright dazzling with one quick application.
But the best thing about ladylike is that the office can be a fashion playground for women to shine and silhouettes to sizzle. For proof, just take one look at Joan.
