Indian Gaming Studio UTV Indiagames Named Amongst Top 100 Worldwide

UTV indiagames
UTV Indiagames, India’s top gaming studio is now amongst the Top 100 Gaming Studios worldwide according to Develop100. Based on data from Metacritic, which measures success based on critical reception of the games on various platforms like PC, consoles and smartphones worldwide.
This is especially impressive because Indiagames is the only gaming studio from India to be listed. It seems gaming in India is maturing past playing rehashed age old games to real quality gaming.
The brainchild and CEO of UTV Indiagames, Vishal Gondal, told website AlooTechie,
The kind of titles that we produce globally have helped us to gain this feat. Our games on Bruce Lee and IPL cricket are very popular worldwide and IPL is the most downloaded game having 4.5 million downloads across all mobile platforms so far. With this, it is very nice to see that India is getting recognition in the global gaming map.”
Social gaming and gaming on emerging platforms like the mobile phone seem to be the companies focus looking into the future, and we can see why. The general trend seems to be that people would rather play smaller games for short durations than sit and play ultra-high graphics games for hours on end. It was reported that Game2Win an online gaming portal secures B series funding of 6$ million as well as it also introduce an interesting game call Kill Osama Bin Laden to achieve maximum traffic worldwide.
Another new trend is having the same game on multiple platforms, as done by Rovio Studios, who have made the same game available for a variety of smartphone platforms, Windows, Mac and even on Chrome. Who knows, maybe the next Angry Birds will be an Indian game!
