Hollywood,CA(Hollywood Today)8/17/11/—Mixing traditional Cuban rhythms with modern jazz fusion; Dayramir Gonzalez and his group Habana Entrance have stormed onto the scene as one of the top up and coming groups with their 2007 release “Dayramir & Habana enTRANCE”. Seeming to draw inspiration from classic Cuban compositions by the likes of Ernesto Lecuona and Orquesta Aragon in addition to more progressive modern fusion; this is lively and engaging music.
“undoubtedly one of the pianists who lead the ship
of the young generation of jazz pianists in Cuba and around the world.” El Paris
From the opening notes of “Gozando” it is immediately evident that Dayramir brings something new to the table. Despite enjoying success in their native Cuba, the group has just begun to break out in the U.S. after Dayramir’s move to Berklee College of Music in Boston in 2010. Having already performed with the likes of Kevin O’Neal and Eddie Palmieri at the young age of 27, watch out for this star on the rise.
